Postman Essay


The postman is an important public servant. He can be found in every part of the country. He goes from door to door to deliver letters, parcels, money orders and gifts.

Earlier the postman used to wear a turban, but now he is seen wearing a smart cap. The postman wears a uniform and carries a bag containing letters, parcels, etc. that have to be delivered.

The local postman is a familiar face. He is simple, humble and courteous person. Whether it is a rich man’s house, or a poor man’s hut, he is welcomed everywhere.

The postman has a very difficult job. He has to deliver the letters on time no matter how cold or hot the day is. In the rainy season the streets may be flooded, but he wades through them so that we get our letters on time. Deserts or forests, mountains or valleys, the postman goes to the remotest places to carry out his duties.

Holidays and festivals bring on an added burden for the postman by way of cards and gifts. Despite the hardships he faces, the postman is happy to bring home the glad tidings. Indeed we should appreciate the fact that while most of us are relaxing at home, he is toiling through the noise and dust of the streets. Only a person of sound health and great perseverance could carry on the life of a postman. Surely he deserves to be held in great respect for the heavy burden that he carries on his shoulders.
